Our
Services The majority of our work involves the following services Grant Applications and Claims There are considerable number of Grant Schemes providing up to 55% of the funds for certain Capital Costs and Non Capital Costs. A major part of our work therefore involves * Advising clients, FREE OF CHARGE, on Grant Schemes. * Preparing our clients' Grant Applications for specific business development projects. These comprise Application Forms and Business Plans that must contain data and documents specified in the guidance notes to the Grant Scheme. * Negotiating with the Grant Authority to obtain a Grant Award. * Appealing against negative or unsatisfactory decisions. * Following a Grant Award, the preparation of Grant Claims to obtain payment of the Grant. Grant Schemes are competitive, and the supporting Business Plan submitted with the Grant Application Forms must demonstrate how the development project matches the grant scheme eligibility criteria and objectives. It must also explain why the project needs grant aid to proceed. Our professional Grant Application service DOUBLES THE SUCCESS RATE in obtaining a Grant Award (see Our Service Benefits). Business Appraisal This service involves detailed analysis of business activities, systems, resources, customers, markets, records, accounts, assets, liabilities, etc. The objective of this exercise is to determine and quantify key Business Performance Indicators, financial performance and position, and strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Bench marking and comparison with similar businesses are undertaken. Our Business Appraisal Report details the analysis and findings, and highlights development opportunities, actions and improvements required to achieve business objectives. Business and Project Planning This service often follows completion of a Business Appraisal. It involves us working closely with our clients to formulate a strategic Business, or Project Plan covering all business actions to achieve key performance and financial objectives. The development strategy is based on a thorough understanding of customer requirements and market trends in order to formulate the correct investment, management, staffing, training, production, marketing and selling plans. Initial customer and market research may be required. Alternative development projects and strategies are appraised. Work may also be required to determine the specifications and costs of capital investments, and determine sources of finance, including Grant Aid. Following formulation of the best development strategy, we prepare forecasts of Trading Profit & Loss, Cash Flow and Balance Sheet statements for up to three years. These are presented in our Business Plan Report along with forecast assumptions, details of the action plans, and supporting documents and data. Business Co-operative Feasibility Studies and Planning The UK Government is encouraging farmers through Grant Schemes to develop existing, and form new Production and Marketing Co-operatives and Groups. The objective of this is to raise profits through increased market power, achieve costs reductions through economies of scale and add value to primary farm products. We undertake Feasibility Studies for Co-operative and Group proposals, followed by preparation of a suitable Business Plan. Grant Scheme Searches We have a knowledge of all the main UK and EU Grant Schemes. However, there are approximately 1800 Grant Schemes operating in the UK that are administered by about 200 Grant Authorities. If required by clients, we undertake a Grant Search through a computerised data base of Grant Schemes for specific businesses and projects. This is based on completion of a detailed questionnaire about the client's business and proposed project. Business Borrowing Applications We prepare Business Borrowing Applications and supporting Business Plans for external finance such as bank overdrafts and loans, mortgages and venture capital. Financial Loss Assessments Farmers occasionally suffer financial losses resulting from accidents, negligence or severe weather conditions. When this involves an Insurance Claim the farmer, their Solicitor, or Insurance Company may require a Business Consultant to determine the value of the loss, and who or what, caused it. We undertake this work. Development Impact Assessments We have experience in undertaking Development Impact Assessments of the likely effect on agriculture and individual farms of proposed developments such as new roads, flood protection schemes, building developments, etc. This work involves a detailed physical, financial and economic analysis. It will also investigate how adverse impacts can be minimised and what the level of financial compensation should be. We also provide the following services: * Market Research, Customer Surveys and Marketing Plans * Feasibility Studies * Cost Reduction Appraisals * Capital Investment Appraisals and Diversification Plans * Loss Adjusting and Expert Witness Consultancy. |
